About the Steyning Conservation Area
The Steyning Conservation Area covers about 32 hectares and was designated by Horsham District Council in 2018. Inside the boundary are 111 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 7 Grade II*, 102 Grade II). The most significant is Brotherhood Hall, 9, Church Street, Grade I. 118 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
