The No.3 Hall Quay / South Quay Conservation Area covers about 11 hectares and was designated by Great Yarmouth Borough Council in 1975. Inside the boundary are 43 listed buildings (3 Grade I, 4 Grade II*, 36 Grade II). The most significant is 4, South Quay, Grade I. 2 Article 4 directions over the area remove further householder rights, on top of the conservation area limits below. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
