The Haslar Peninsula Conservation Area covers about 51 hectares and was designated by Gosport Borough Council in 1990. Inside the boundary are 26 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 4 Grade II*, 21 Grade II). The most significant is Gunboat Sheds and Workshops, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
