The St Briavels Conservation Area covers about 11 hectares and was designated by Forest of Dean District Council in 1979. Inside the boundary are 45 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 2 Grade II*, 41 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Mary, Grade I. 8 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
