The Hythe Conservation Area covers about 58 hectares and was designated by Folkestone and Hythe Council in 1969. Inside the boundary are 102 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 3 Grade II*, 98 Grade II). The most significant is The Parish Church of St Leonard, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
