The Framlingham Conservation Area covers about 47 hectares and was designated by East Suffolk Council in 1970. Inside the boundary are 92 listed buildings (3 Grade I, 9 Grade II*, 80 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Michael the Archangel, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
