The Sledmere Conservation Area covers about 431 hectares and was designated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council in 2010. Inside the boundary are 29 listed buildings (3 Grade I, 3 Grade II*, 23 Grade II). The most significant is Eleanor Cross, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
