The Lympstone Conservation Area covers about 20 hectares and was designated by East Devon District Council in 1973. Inside the boundary are 54 listed buildings (1 Grade II*, 53 Grade II). The most significant is Parish Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
