The Symondsbury Conservation Area covers about 34 hectares and was designated by Dorset Council in 1976. Inside the boundary are 23 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 2 Grade II*, 20 Grade II). The most significant is Symondsbury Parish Church (st John the Baptist), Grade I. 2 Article 4 directions over the area remove further householder rights, on top of the conservation area limits below.
