The Sandford Orcas Conservation Area covers about 43 hectares and was designated by Dorset Council in 1976. Inside the boundary are 16 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 2 Grade II*, 12 Grade II). The most significant is Parish Church of St Nicholas, Grade I.
