About the Milton Abbas Conservation Area
The Milton Abbas Conservation Area covers about 116 hectares and was designated by Dorset Council in 1970. Inside the boundary are 62 listed buildings (4 Grade I, 4 Grade II*, 54 Grade II). The most significant is Abbey Church of St Mary, St Sansom and St Branwalader, Grade I. 1 Article 4 direction over the area removes further householder rights, on top of the conservation area limits below. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
