The Kingston Conservation Area covers about 7.7 hectares and was designated by Dorset Council in 1975. Inside the boundary are 23 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 22 Grade II). The most significant is Parish Church of Saint James, Grade I. 2 Article 4 directions over the area remove further householder rights, on top of the conservation area limits below.
