The Buckfastleigh Conservation Area covers about 23 hectares and was designated by Dartmoor National Park in 1976. Inside the boundary are 66 listed buildings (1 Grade II*, 65 Grade II). The most significant is 26-29, Chapel Street, Grade II*. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
