About the Aylsham Conservation Area
The Aylsham Conservation Area covers about 82 hectares and was designated by Broadland District Council in 1972. Inside the boundary are 141 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 4 Grade II*, 135 Grade II). The most significant is Parish Church of Saint Michael Including Church Yard Boundary Wall, Grade I. 27 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
