The North Elmham Conservation Area covers about 356 hectares and was designated by Breckland District Council in 1988. Inside the boundary are 23 listed buildings (2 Grade I, 1 Grade II*, 20 Grade II). The most significant is Church of St Mary, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
