The New Buckenham Conservation Area covers about 82 hectares and was designated by Breckland District Council in 1973. Inside the boundary are 46 listed buildings (3 Grade I, 1 Grade II*, 42 Grade II). The most significant is Barn 110 Metres South East of Old Buckenham Castle Keep, Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
