The Saltaire Conservation Area covers about 34 hectares and was designated by City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council in 1971. Inside the boundary are 99 listed buildings (1 Grade I, 4 Grade II*, 94 Grade II). The most significant is Congregational Church (including Salt Family Mausoleum to South), Grade I. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
