The Throop and Muccleshell Villages Conservation Area covers about 21 hectares and was designated by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council in 1975. Inside the boundary are 19 listed buildings, all Grade II. Part of the area lies in flood zone 3, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
