The East Cliff Conservation Area covers about 77 hectares and was designated by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council in 1987. Inside the boundary are 16 listed buildings (1 Grade II*, 15 Grade II). The most significant is Russell-Cotes Museum, Grade II*.
