The Northgate Conservation Area covers about 9.6 hectares and was designated by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council in 1994. Inside the boundary are 11 listed buildings, all Grade II. Part of the area lies in flood zone 2, so an extension may need a flood risk assessment.
