The Elsecar Conservation Area covers about 117 hectares within Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council’s area. Inside the boundary are 30 listed buildings (11 Grade II*, 19 Grade II). The most significant is Building 1, former Elsecar Ironworks casting shed, Grade II*.
