About the Charing Conservation Area
The Charing Conservation Area covers about 14 hectares and was designated by Ashford Borough Council in 1996. Inside the boundary are 62 listed buildings (5 Grade I, 6 Grade II*, 51 Grade II). The most significant is Barn to South East of Palace Farmhouse, Grade I. 9 Tree Preservation Order records overlap the area; every other tree here still needs six weeks’ notice before work.
